‘Someday’ is the shell that contained all that was.
It signifies all that we may become.

The root was solid.
It had strength of history, endurance and time.
Its core was discarded.
Its insides were destroyed.
It is hollow.

‘Someday’ is an impression of the root’s external surface, like old bones that tell stories of time gone by. A memory of all that we might lose and all that I hope we remember.

The soul has been scooped out and what is left is just the carcass, a membrane between the outside world and its vulnerable interior spaces.

I found the original root discarded a few lanes away from my home.
